As much as researchers would like to resurrect some extinct species like a Wooly Mammoth via cloning, there isn’t enough genetic material to reconstruct one. The bits of DNA that we have from mummified remains in arctic permafrost have too many gaps. However, there might be enough to create Mammoth/elephant mix and the prospect is much more feasible for animals that have gone extinct recently and/or face imminent extinction. The zoos of the future might be populated with prehistoric hybrids.
