You need a villain? We've got'm right here. But surprise! They're the ones wearing the white coats. In acient Greece "doctor" was synonymous with "assassin"
John Hunter: England’s greatest surgeon tried to steal the nasal polyps of celebrated composer Joseph Haydn, while he was still alive. No anesthesia.
Benjamin Rush: Suspended patients from the ceiling, for hours on end to cure mental illness. He invented the “tranquilizer chair," employed all over the world that restrained a patient’s hands and feet, covered his head with a wooden box and had a hole cut in the bottom, for bodily functions. He would then attempt to beat the mental illness out of them.

This website gives you the "true" names of countries, states, and locations around the world. By true, they mean the indigenous. Might this inspire you to see an old location in a different way? Names are powerful things.
