Speculative Fact #318: What is Faster than Light? Tons of Stuff.

Well, not exactly tons of stuff. According to Michio Kaku at Bigthink.com, the list of forces that can break the light speed barrier is exactly 4 things long:
  1. The Big Bang. (head start, yet also accelerating, light will never catch up)
  2. Quantum entangled sub-atomic particles. (also cheating!)
  3. Negative Matter (a legitimate contender)
  4. Beams of Light? (sort of)

So, depending on what you consider traveling, this list is exhaustive...at least it is here. Were you to cross into another dimension or a parallel universe, the rules would most likely change. How, though, is up to you. What is the principle behind your FTL?
