A large percentage of Iceland's power comes not from fossil fuels but geothermal energy. This is possible in part due to the region's volcanic activity. While about 20% of Hawaii's energy is geothermal, some have proposed further developing the resource. Could Hawaii become the alternative energy model of the future? What if instead of an energy crisis a future Hawaii had an energy surplus?
