Speculative Fact #219: Ancient Plague

Classical Athens was afflicted by an epidemic that killed a large percentage of their population.
            Some researchers suspect that the plague might have been typhoid while others contend that it might have been some ancient strain of an unknown disease that’s now gone extinct.
Bacteria and viruses can mutate or even go dormant. What if some ancient strain from the past returns even more potent and wreaks havoc? Will the characters in your story rush to find a cure, or succumb to the pandemic?
