Speculative Fact #265: The Head is gone. "We can't rule out cult involvement."

FW Murnau's head is gone. 

Honestly, I wanted to end this blog post with that one line, but some context may be necessary. The Oscar winning director of the legendary Nosferatu set the stage for every vampire and psycho for years to come. 
     Murnau's movie was the unofficial screen adaptation of Bram Stokers's Dracula, and Stoker's estate sued them. Perhaps the Stokers were not satisfied until they took back a little intellectual property of their own. Pure speculation (which is so much fun!). 
      What we do know is that sometime during the night, somebody stole into the family's cemetery in Stahnsdorf, Germany. Then they dug up and took Murnau's head. Wax was found at the scene, possible from rituals involving candles. If you were a grave robber, what would you do with his head? Hope it finds new life in your story.
