Speculative Fact #270: Good Going Graphene!

Graphene is still a relatively new artificial material that is being studied and tested for a number of possible future applications.
This substance is composed completely of carbon and has some useful properties like conductivity and high tensile strength. It also seems that when graphene is saturated with calcium is becomes a superconductor at low temperatures. Superconductivity is a state where a material conducts with no resistance and can be used, among other things, for the construction of magnetic levitation (maglev) bullet train rail lines. As we continue to study this amazing material we may uncover its other hidden talents and think of new ways to use it.
In your tales graphene may be as commonplace as rubber or plastic and be used in roles ranging from the domestic to the industrial.
