Speculative Fact #272: Less Than Perfect,

The human body is beautiful, but it is far from perfect. The road to survival and procreation was a long one with many speed-bumps that forced our biology to take shortcuts, every one of which is documented in our DNA. But some of them are obvious to the naked eye. Our spine, for example, is a mediocre hack from the days when our ancestors walked on all fours, and the bipedal evolution puts amazing and damaging pressure on our lower spine. That's just one of many examples. If your story does draw on evolutionary theories then  keep this in mind; the body is not a masterpiece, it is fingerprinting and there's a lot of room for improvement. How might you improve upon the design?
