Speculative Fact #273: Apes Enter Stone Age

Apes have entered their Stone Age (actually they might have been in a stone age for thousands of years without us realizing it); this isn’t a reason to panic, rather as fiction writers this gives us an opportunity to speculate. 


An alien species might think as well as we can, or even better, but not like us. What kinds of tools will the apes develop? Let’s also ask - what kinds of technology might an alien species think up? While some gadgets and gizmos might resemble ours or serve the same role, an alien species is not bound by our sensibilities. The possibilities are limitless.
