Speculative Fact #281: Parasitic Children

What if the children we raised, thinking they were ours, were actually alien beings? The changelings of Celtic folklore are left behind by fairies after they abduct a human child.
In nature, the cuckoo will lay its eggs in the nest of a different species of bird. Sometimes the cuckoo egg will even change its appearance to imitate the egg of the host species. After hatching, the cuckoo chick will demand food and care from the fooled parents and kick the other eggs out of the nest to get rid of the competition.
Perhaps the family in your stories have families that have been disrupted by some parasitic species that is using human parents as hosts.
