 Let's take a closer look at our oceans. Matter of fact, lets get in and stay awhile. The next new thing in eco-tourism is the underwater hotel. Corporations have been creating underwater luxury hotels for a little while now in exotic places like Dubai, already known for its ultra-wealthy creations like man made islands and indoor ski resorts. But, now it's coming to the U.S.
Tony Web from Planet Ocean wants to build them here in the U.S. to help stimulate interest in protecting the coral reefs and scientific research on the ocean biomes. This might be a great seed idea for an eco-punk story (also known as Solar Punk). Take that along with new technologies to gather energy from the motion of the ocean, and you have a near future city ready to be populated with characters.
