When the ancient Greeks found the bones of Mastodons in peat, they found a logical way to accept their discovery within their mythical paradigm; the bones belonged to giant beings that once roamed the Earth.
The orbits of the mammoth can appear as one eye socket, which they attributed to the famous Cyclops. Other creatures like the Triceratops are believed to have inspired beings like the Griffin.
If we look in the prehistoric animal kingdom, what kind of fossils can inspire us with fantastic creature designs? Maybe a plesiosaur can inspire a sea serpent. Untold leviathans and behemoths await your imagination!
