Powered armor and exosuits have long been featured in science fiction, but what could be better than something big, bulky, and awkward? How about a form fitting exosuit that can slip on like a pair of jeans? DARPA had invested almost three million dollars into the development of a “soft” exoskeleton to help troops bear their burdens in battle. It doesn’t take a science fiction writer’s imagination to think of how such an invention could alter our landscape once it hits the private sectors!
